Everything but the Bagel Recipe + Flax

I’ve been seeing the Trader Joes new seasoning blend, Everything but the Bagel, pop up all over social media.  Unfortunately for me, the closes Trader Joes is 60 miles away!  Yikes!  Instead of driving 2 hours, I decided to just mix some up at home.

One thing I love about this recipe is all the amazing nutrients combined together.

Flax Seeds

  • Contains Omega-3
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • May help manage diabetes
  • Reduces inflammation associated with plaque in the arteries (prevent heart attacks)
  • Reduces the intensity of hot flashes in menopausal women

Sesame Seeds

  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Strengthens and repairs bones
  • Helps manage diabetes
  • Reduces inflammation in joints, muscles, and bones

Poppy Seeds

  • Protects bones from damage
  • Keeps your full, lowers cholesterol, prevents constipation
  • Supports bone health, helps heart and nervous system
  • Strengthens your bones and protects your DNA from damage

Pink Himalayan Salt

  • Promotes a stable pH balance within the cells

Everything but the Bagel + Flax

You don't need to head to Trader Joes, you can whip up your own seasoning blend with some added flax

Course: Spice Blend
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 Tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp dried minced garlic
  • 1 tsp pink Himalayan salt
Instructions
  1. Toast the sesame seeds in a medium skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, 3 to 5 minutes. 

    Add sesame seeds and remaining ingredients into airtight container.

     Shake to mix. 

Recipe Notes

Store in a dry place.  This seasoning blend should be used within 3 months.
